IHA Webinar: The New QIO Program

IHA hosted a webinar entitled "The New QIO Program" on Sept. 9 from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.  ET. CMS has made major changes to its Quality Improvement Organization contracts and has separated medical case review from quality improvement work creating two separate structures:

  • Medical case review to be performed by Beneficiary Family Centered Care Quality Improvement Organizations (BFCC-QIOs).

  • Quality improvement and technical assistance QIOs to be performed by Quality Innovation Network Quality Improvement Organizations (QIN-QIOs).

The purpose of this webinar is to review the QIO Program changes and introduce Indiana hospitals to the KePRO and QSource. KePRO is serving as Indiana’s BFCC-QIO and QSource is serving as Indiana’s QIN-QIO. We are pleased to have both organizations join us for this webinar to introduce their organization, their roles in Indiana and to answer questions from IHA members. We strongly encourage you to attend this webinar and/or assign someone from your organization to attend the webinar. IHA has been fielding many calls and emails regarding the CMS program changes. This webinar offers the opportunity to learn and better understand how these changes impact your hospital.
