AHA Annual Survey Due May 18

IHA has partnered with the American Hospital Association (AHA) once again to collect data through the AHA Annual Survey. The materials for the fiscal year 2017 survey were mailed to CEOs on March 9. Responses are due May 18.

Health care leaders, policymakers, researchers, and consumers use the AHA Annual Survey Database to get a snapshot of the provider market. The AHA Annual Survey is an important source of provider data and is the origin of AHA Guide, Hospital Statistics, and the U.S. News & World Report’s Directory of America’s Hospitals. Your response to the survey ensures that your hospital’s information will be represented accurately in these resources.

IHA relies heavily on data from the survey for its many advocacy activities at the state and national levels, as well as other related information needs. As a state partner with AHA, we encourage you to complete the survey as quickly as possible. Even if you are not an AHA-member hospital, it is important that you complete the survey. Without your response, AHA may use approximations from past years, which may not provide realistic information.

The survey may be mailed in or completed online. All materials for both entry methods are included in the packet mailed in March. If you have questions concerning the survey, please contact AHA at 800-530-9092 or surveysupport@aha.org or Elaine Pittman, IHA data services coordinator, at epittman@IHAconnect.org or 317-423-7735. Thank you in advance for your participation in this very important project.
