​​The Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital has earned primary stroke center accreditation from The Joint Commission. The hospital began the process in 2016 and adopted strategies to improve the safety and quality of care of stroke patients. The program requirements for The Joint Commission were developed in collaboration with the American Stroke Association. Eskenazi Health is working to become the second comprehensive stroke center in Indiana. ​
