​​​Congratulations to IHA’s 2018 Administrative Professional Excellence Award winner Linda P. Smith, executive administration coordinator at Indiana University Health North Hospital in Carmel. Established in 2014, the Administrative Professional Excellence Award recognizes outstanding administrative support service. Smith was nominated by the executive team of IU Health’s North Central Region, led by Interim President Randall Yust. Yust presented the award with IHA President Brian Tabor during last week’s IHA Administrative Professionals Conference  in Indianapolis.

Smith began her administrative career at La Porte Hospital and followed the CEO south to Indianapolis to assist with the groundbreaking of Clarian North Hospital, now IU Health North Hospital. “Linda has helped build the foundation of IU Health North through hiring personnel, creating and implementing policies, and understanding the government in order to help with multiple service lines and financial payments,” her nomination form stated. “She is a walking example of what it is to live out IU Health North Hospital’s vision. The amount of kindness Linda exudes throughout this organization is empowering and opening to all.”​
