Indiana
hospitals flew out to Washington, D.C. last week to attend the American
Hospital Association’s Annual Membership Meeting, which took place May 6-9.
Featured speakers included Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
Administrator Seema Verma and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)
Secretary Alex Azar. Verma discussed a number
of efforts underway at CMS, including many to reduce regulatory burdens on
providers, while Azar laid out four
priorities for creating a value-based health care delivery system. During
the meeting, IHA was recognized with the AHAPAC Hall of Fame Award for 25 years
of achieving the association’s PAC goal. Warren Forgey, president and CEO of
Schneck Medical Center, accepted the award on behalf of IHA. In addition to
attending the conference, IHA and member hospitals spent a day on Capitol Hill
meeting with Indiana’s Congressional Delegation. Learn more about the AHA
