Thank
you to everyone who participated in Patient Safety Awareness Week last week!
Staff from IHA's Indiana Patient Safety Center (IPSC) highlighted five key
patient safety issues—opioid abuse/misuse, medication safety, patient
engagement, safe sleep practices, and hand hygiene—in interviews with RTV6
throughout the week. You can view the interviews here.
Be sure to also check out the great work of Indiana hospitals featured on the
IHA Facebook
page. While Patient Safety Awareness Week is a good time to bring attention
to these issues, they are important and affect Hoosier lives year-round.
Patient safety is everyone’s responsibility, and everyone needs to speak up,
ask questions, take an active role in their care, and commit to making their
communities safer. With your help, and the help of the patient safety
coalitions across the state, we will continue to work toward our collective
goal of zero patient harms.
