Indiana House Democrats have selected Representative Terry
Goodin (D-Austin) to succeed Representative Scott Pelath (D-Michigan City) as
the new Democratic minority leader for the Indiana House of Representatives.
Elected in 2000, Rep. Goodin serves as superintendent of Crothersville
Community Schools and will remain superintendent in his new role as minority
leader. Representative Pelath announced earlier this month that he would step
down as house minority leader and not seek re-election to the House seat that
he has held since 1998. He said the decision was to spend more time with his
family. Pelath's current term concludes at the end of next year.
