IHA Memo-CMS Proposes Cancellation of AMI, CABG, and SHFFT EPMs and to Allow Certain Indiana Hospitals to Choose Whether to Continue in the CJR Model

Yesterday, CMS released a proposed rule for public inspection that would do the following:

  • Cancel the AMI, CABG, and SHFFT episode payment models that are currently scheduled to begin on January 1, 2018
  • Cancel the cardiac rehabilitation incentive payment program that is currently scheduled to begin on January 1, 2018
  • Revise various aspects of the CJR model 

The proposed rule is scheduled to be officially published in the Federal Register on Aug. 17. CMS will accept written comments concerning the proposed rule for 60 days following the proposed rule's official publication. Read the memo in its entirety here.
