President Named for IU Health Adult Academic Health Center - Methodist, University Hospitals

Susan Moffatt-Bruce, M.D., Ph.D., has been named president of the IU Health Adult Academic Health Center (AAHC), which includes IU Health Methodist Hospital and IU Health University Hospital, Indianapolis. She will join the organization on Sept. 1. Currently a professor of surgery and biomedical informatics and chief quality, patient safety and experience officer at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC), Moffatt-Bruce has helped lead OSUWMC in consistent top rankings for the UHC/Vizient Leadership Quality and Accountability Award, which recognizes excellence in delivering high-quality care, and has received several research grants, including an AHRQ $4 million multidisciplinary research grant from the federal government to improve patient safety. As president of the adult AHC, Moffatt-Bruce's priorities will include continuing to develop the AAHC as a destination medical center and leading the strategic facilities planning for the proposed new AAHC.

Moffatt-Bruce completed medical school and her general surgery residency at Dalhousie University in Canada, after earning a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from McGill University. She also holds a Ph.D. in transplant immunology from the University of Cambridge.
