Dr. Karen DeSalvo Joins IHA Annual Membership Meeting Lineup

As hospitals and health systems continue to move toward value-based care, leaders must carefully calibrate their care redesign efforts. In her talk “Getting to Health: A New Vision for Connected, Secure, Accessible Care,” Dr. Karen DeSalvo will discuss how embracing digital health technologies, supporting clinical excellence across the care continuum, and addressing the social determinants of health are three essential components of care delivery models that can achieve both success and spread. DeSalvo will explore the latest health care trends and identify the big strategies that hospitals and health systems must adopt to meet society’s demands in our consumer-driven health care marketplace. DeSalvo is a professor of internal medicine and population health at the University of Texas Dell Medical School and former acting assistant secretary for health and former national coordinator of health information technology at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
