​​Today the House Insurance Committee passed by a unanimous vote House Bill 1143 which would streamline the prior authorization process in the commercial market. Author of HB1143, Rep. Donna Schaibley, thanked the stakeholders including IHA, the Indiana State Medical Association, and insurers for ​coming together on an amendment which was largely technical in nature. The bill will now be eligible for possible amendment in the full House next week. Bills must pass the chamber in which they were introduced by February 6th in order to be eligible for consideration in the second half of the legislative session.
