Making sure your voice is heard.
From the Indiana Statehouse to Washington, D.C., Friends of Indiana Hospitals Political Action Committee (Friends) works to improve health care in Indiana by helping to elect pro-hospital policymakers who can affect change for, and protect the interests of, patients and health care institutions across Indiana.
IHA works to advance sound health policies and ensure that lawmakers understand how the decisions they make impact the health of Hoosiers. Recent IHA PAC efforts include:
- Through the HIP 2.0 program, IHA helped expand health care coverage for 250,000 previously uninsured Hoosiers.
- IHA works at the Indiana Statehouse to improve public health measures, like enacting the first statewide smoke-free air law.
- By collaborating with Indiana lawmakers, IHA created a hospital assessment program that brings in additional Medicaid funding to stabilize reimbursement levels.
- Developing strong relationships with legislators has helped IHA defeat numerous attempts to impose new, burdensome regulations, and to protect Indiana’s Medical Malpractice Act.
