Hospitals need advocates now more than ever.

The American health care industry is in the midst of profound transformation, much of it driven by legislative action. IHA represents Indiana hospital at the state and federal levels to advance sound health policies and to ensure that lawmakers understand how the decisions they make impact the health of Hoosiers. We’ve worked hard to develop strong relationships with legislators—and we build on these relationships to advocate on behalf of our members.

As your voice at the Statehouse and on Capitol Hill, IHA has:

  • Worked to enact Indiana’s first statewide smoke-free air law
  • Collaborated with Indiana lawmakers to create a hospital assessment program that brings in over $200 million in additional Medicaid funding to stabilize provider payments
  • Partnered with former governor Mike Pence and his administration to launch HIP 2.0, which expands health care coverage for up to 350,000 uninsured Hoosiers

But we haven’t done it alone. Together, IHA and Indiana hospitals unite to show lawmakers how we care as an industry for our communities and the health of Hoosiers across the state.

How can you become an advocate?
