Hand Hygiene Awareness Week & United Against the Flu

December 3-9, 2017 is both National Influenza Vaccination Week and Hand Hygiene Awareness Week. IHA proudly partners with the American Hospital Association (AHA) on their United Against the Flu Campaign and to promote Hand Hygiene Awareness Week, which is one of the simplest ways to help prevent the flu.
 
View a fact sheet, social media messaging and images (accessible below) for you to use to promote hand hygiene and flu vaccinations in your organizations. We encourage you to visit and share the United Against the Flu website and these best hand hygiene practices, as well as visit our hand hygiene SOAP UP campaign.

Toolkit

APIC Indiana and IHA partnered to develop a hand hygiene measurement toolkit for use in health care facilities within Indiana. The toolkit was developed in response to a request from one of our patient safety coalitions and the IHA Council on Quality and Patient Safety. This toolkit will help hospitals promote consistency in the methods used for hand hygiene observation and tracking.
