Yesterday,
representatives from 17 Indiana critical access hospitals met to discuss
telehealth and best practices, falls prevention, and antibiotic stewardship.
Additionally, attendees received an update on five new programs SHIP will be
implementing at area hospitals with the help of IHA and SORC. These programs
will promote patient safety and training programs to further educate each
respective hospital.
Representatives
from Valiant Health Quality Solutions, Qsource, Indiana Rural Health
Association, State Office of Rural Health, and the Indiana Patient Safety
Center convened the meeting and served as session facilitators. In addition,
critical access hospital awards were presented to five hospital representatives
during the meeting. Awards were presented by Indiana Health Commissioner Dr.
Kristina Box, who attended the meeting to promote the work of critical access
