Hospital Medical Education Program summer 2019 applications due Dec. 5

The Hospital Medical Education (HME) program places Indiana University (IU) School of Medicine first-year students in a sponsoring Indiana community hospital for six to eight weeks during the summer to give medical students the opportunity to work with hospital medical staff and learn about the local health care system. The HME program is sponsored by IHA and the Indiana State Medical Association and endorsed by the IU School of Medicine.

If your hospital would like to sponsor medical students this summer, complete the application and return it to Jose Espada, director of medical student affairs at the IU School of Medicine, at jespada@iupui.edu. Completed applications must be received by Dec. 5. There is no hospital application fee to participate in the HME program.
