Indiana Hospital Association Hires New Vice President

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Hospital Association (IHA) is pleased to announce the hire of Andrew VanZee, an experienced health care executive with a history of improving hospital systems and redefining how patients access their health care, as vice president of the association.

At IHA, VanZee will help 170 hospitals across the state improve health care operations, information technology systems, cybersecurity and implement telemedicine capabilities.

“Andy’s experience in health care and hospital administration, along with his understanding of the latest technologies that can support hospitals in improving care, make him the perfect fit. Indiana hospitals and their patients will all benefit from his expertise,” said Doug Leonard, IHA president.

VanZee joins IHA after serving as chief quality officer and health IT director for the Indiana Family Social Services Administration. One of his most significant accomplishments at the State was working with the State Department of Health to establish myvaxindiana.org, a database that enables patients to access their immunization records.

“It is an honor to join IHA and I’m most excited about visiting with hospitals and their staffs to figure out how I can link them with the resources and technology they need to solve problems and treat patients more efficiently,” VanZee said.

Previously, VanZee served as vice president of operations and provider networks for Logansport Memorial Hospital where he led the development of an all-digital radiology solution. In this capacity, VanZee worked on initiatives that led to a 30-minute decrease in overall emergency room wait time.

VanZee is a former EMT and emergency room technician. He holds a Master of Science Informational Systems degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, a Master of Health Administration degree from the University of South Carolina and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Knox College.
