​​​President of Indiana University Health South Central Region, Matt Bailey, was one of 50 individuals who received the AHA Grassroots Champion Award May 8, 2017 at the AHA Annual Membership Meeting in Washington, D.C. The award recognizes hospital leaders who effectively educate elected officials on how major issues affect the hospital’s vital role in the community, who have done an exemplary job in broadening the base of community support for the hospital and who are tireless advocates for hospitals and their patients. Bailey was recognized for his achievement during the IHA Council on Government Relations meeting in December.​​
