​​​The American Hospital Association (AHA) has updated its popular Eliminating Harm, Improv​ing Patient Care: A Trustee Guide resource, which is designed to provide continuing education and guidance to hospital and health system board members in the journey to improve patient care. The enhanced resource includes four new video modules, a discussion guide, and a self-assessment tool. The video modules feature hospital and health system leaders sharing the work and strategic priorities around quality at their organizations. Topics include the importance of ongoing board education, how boards can influence quality through a focus on population health, the role of clinical engagement in quality improvement, and the importance of patient and family engagement in improving quality. Each module has three components: preview questions, an educational video, and key takeaways. ​
